October is Veterans’ Voices Month in Minnesota—to celebrate, we hear from three of this year’s Veterans’ Voices award winners.

Guests: David O’Fallon, President and CEO, Minnesota Humanities Center; Kelsey Besse, Project Manager, Be The Match; Brigadier General David Hamlar Jr., Assistant Adjutant General-Air, Minnesota National Guard, Doctor at VA Medical Center and Regions Hospital; Robert Rivera, Director of Family and Community Engagement, Robbinsdale School District

    Interviews with David O’Fallon and Kelsey Besse. O’Fallon discusses how October became designated as Veterans’ Voices Month in Minnesota and the importance of hearing from veterans on their own experiences. Besse discusses her work in health care and caring for veterans suffering from mental health, addiction and domestic violence issues.

    Interviews with Brigadier General David Hamlar Jr. and Robert Rivera. General Hamlar discusses his deployment and work as a doctor treating veterans. Rivera discusses his friend and one of this year’s Legacy award winners, Dr. James Northrup, who passed away in August of this year.
