Boosting Elementary School Student Literacy

Strong reading skills and academic success go hand-in-hand. Studies show that about two thirds of fourth-grade students in the United States do not read proficiently, but one Minnesota-based tutoring program is boosting literacy levels for elementary school students. This week on Access Minnesota, ServeMinnesota Action Network Executive Director Sheila Piippo tells us how the Minnesota Reading Corps helping kids in kindergarten through third-grade improve their reading ability.
