Parents Forever: Helping Parents Deal with the Stress of Divorce

For the week of June 1st, 2014

Divorce can be a traumatic experience for many children, particularly when parents place their kids in the middle of the conflict. A Minnesota state law requires divorcing couples to take a co-parenting course to ease the impact of the break-up on their children. On this week’s Access Minnesota, University of Minnesota Extension Service Professor Ellie McCann joins us to discuss the Parents Forever program and how it’s helping parents deal with the stresses of divorce.

  • Guest: Ellie McCann, educator and Associate Professor with the University of Minnesota Extension Service’s “Parents Forever” program
  • Issues: Common issues divorced parents struggle with; How ‘Parents Forever’ helps parents manage shared parenthood; Why the program is so necessary and effective; Tips for divorced parents
