The University of Minnesota’s Partnership with ‘Teach for America’

For the week of October 20th, 2013

Attracting and retaining high quality teachers is an ongoing challenge for the state’s public education system. The University of Minnesota is launching a program in cooperation with Teach for America that will offer a non-traditional pathway to licensure for students seeking a teaching career. On this week’s Access Minnesota, Associate Dean Deborah Dillon from the U’s College of Education and Human Development discusses this novel and controversial approach to training teachers.
