Minnesota Veterans’ Voices

For the week of September 29th, 2013

According to the Pew Research Center, a smaller percentage of Americans currently serve in the military than at any other time since the era between the first and second World Wars. That means fewer of us have a direct connection to someone serving in armed forces. On this week’s Access Minnesota, we’ll learn how the Minnesota Humanities Center is making sure that the voices of recent veterans are heard and their contributions to the community are recognized.

  • Guests: David O’Fallon, President and CEO of the Minnesota Humanities Center; Mohammed Zafar, US Marine Corp veteran and Community Psychologist; Patrick Sweany, US Army Reserve veteran and Paramedic
  • Issues:The Minnesota Humanities Center’s “Veterans Voices” awards; How soldiers can overcome PTSD as they reintegrate into civilian life; How these veterans were affected by their service experiences
